Usb 2.0 transfering speed < Usb 3.0 transfering speed
well this is the difference you should worry about .
Well in short obviously usb 3.0 is better. but you can take full advantage only if you have usb 3.0 ports in your computer. unless it will work with backward compatibility(usb 2.0). But you should take usb 3.0, even if you don't have usb 3.0 ports it will be future proof.
