The kind of requirements you have posted, FX-6300 is the ideal choice for you. It is a 6 Core Processor which offers far better multi tasking than an dual core i3.

For multitasking work get fx 6300 over i3 3220 anyday.

If you want intel only, then raise budget and get i5 3470

If you dont have any graphic card then you will need one to start FX rig or stick with i5

That's not a myth. IMO it's intentional.
avg. poster in thinkdigit is below 28yrs old. So the person's birth year is 1986/87. Now internet penetration before 1995 in India was near to nil. AMD had some batches of processor which had some heating issues before 1990. So these guys when they turn 15+ is around 1999/2000. At that time there were no AMD processor batch which had issues. Now at age 15 they went to buy a PC with his father to local PC market. Now tell how the hell did that boy have a slitest idea that once upon a time AMD processors had heating issues. Unless that shop wala told his(that 15+ yr old's) father that "Intel le lijiye AMD me heating problem hai".

I am using AMD from K5 days never had any problems. All those PCs are still working. I am saving those cause if some day I become somewhat rich I want have a old hardware museum :p.

When I went to buy my PII 955 BE at chandni kolkata few years back I noticed shopwala's selling these father-son/daughter combos Intel showing this heating issue.
Now tell me that 30yr old shop boy with less priviledges(read: no access to review sites ), unless his boss(the owner of shop, who is in tern told by the distributor) told him to sell Intel showing that reason how is he telling that AMD overheats???
