Hi. I recently did a clean installation of Windows XP SP2.
I'm facing a strange problem.
When Windows boots up, before the login/welcome screen appears, the wallpaper I have set on my desktop is shown for a second.
This never happenned before.
Is there some way to make it go?
I'm the admin of my system.

I think U have installed prirated and edited version of windows XP.

I am not sure this will work or not..but plz give a try.And make sure U have made a restore point before trying this.

1. Start-->>Run-->>type regedit and press enter
2. Navigate to here:
HKEY_USER\DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop

3. Find Wallpapers paragraph which will look something like this:
ab Wallpapers REG_SZ C:\Dosument and Settings\username\
Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\techiehost.jpg

4. Click on that paragraph and delete all in Value Data

5. Click on OK and Restart your system.

I hope you have done.

What's that got to do with it? I've seen dozens of PC's with pirated versions but none with the same problem. As for using an edited version, if slipstreaming SP2 in original XP setup files means editing, then yes, I'm using an edited verison.
As for your solution, I'll try.

^^ I think u hv used a tweak software coz such softwares include this tweak to copy ur desktop settings to Login screen and thats why ur wallpaper has been copied to login screen. ;)

The tweak suggested by ravi will work. :)
Just open regedit and goto:

Code:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop

and in right-side pane delete the STRING value "Wallpaper".

@ravi_9793 & Vishal Gupta:
Thanks your answer worked. Actually I do use a tweaking software i.e. Microsoft's very own TweakUI v2.10. But I don't remember using any such option in it.
