Back to school!!
Just tried it, amazing, plays flvs, which puts this in the same league as MXplayer, but without the ads, and the occasional hitching.

VLC for Android code has been updated to allow installation to SD card. I am not sure when will this update land in the Play store.

Tried it on Galaxy Tab 2 and Funbook. Extremely buggy, crashing now and then. Not an MX Player beater at all. Video list takes long time to refresh. Opposite experience to Windows version. Will take a LONG time to improve. And yes thumbnail generation takes as much time as biting nails of all 10 fingers.

Right off the assembly line
VLC has a reputation as a Swiss Army Knife media player. The team’s apps for Windows, Mac, and Linux computers can handle virtually any media file you can throw at them.

Now VLC is also available for Android. You can find it in the Google Play Store. But the initial version is still very much beta software and it’s still a bit of a work in progress.
