I have lots of data in an excell sheet. I have to do a lot of cleaning and other things before i can analyze it. So i will be automating it to save time. Now i have two options , automate using VBA or using MS Access. Whats better and why ?

Depends what you want to do. Things can be automated in Excel also (VBA). Or you can import the data into MS-Access. What will you do after you have achieved the the clean up scrub.
Give me more details here. Have around 9 years of experience doing this.
