can a usb to usb cable be used for sharing internet betwn 2 PCs??

i do it with a LAN cable .. but plz lemme know whether it can be done with a usb to usb cable also

i think not, they mentioned only file transfer

they mentioned sumtihn about taknig backup of data, dint mention anything about net sharing

but y r u not going for ethernet?

LAN cards cheap, ehternet cable also cheap and it seems you wont be requiring much in the first place

already have my PC connected to my old PC with LAN

no PCI slot left .. dont want to go in for a hub/switch.
hence thought of this option.

U can use USB LAN card.

Why don't you get a Hub and make a Home network? It is going to be the best.

Also you can directly use Crossover Ethernet cable for directly connecting 2 PCs....

USB LAN card + Crossover cable..........This is going to work for you....
