Dear Forum,

I recently purchased an assembled PC. The problem is with usb ports (front side on cabinet). It damaged my three card readers.
I don't understand what's the reason. Someone told me that there must be current in my usb ports which damaged my card readers. How to check this ???
Can sonone help me out ????
Please !

Check for proper earthing in your power plug first, Touch the side wall of cabinet, if you get shock, then get your earthing fixed..

Check if the front panel connections to Motherboard are loose or not...

If that doesnt work, replace your cabinet or buy this

Check earthing first. Use a tester at the rear panel of you cabinet to check if there is any current.

Or you can test the current with a Tester, rather than touching it yourself. :p

The current is usually too faint to be detected via tester (my case), either way just test it OP

to reliably test for earthing problems try this:

You can touch the tip of your tongue to the cabinet metal. you'll feel it, no matter how weak the current is, if there is any earthing problem.

just joking. dont try this. please.

how do you know if the card readers are damaged due to the cabinet USB port? did you test other onboard usb ports?
