Urgent - Rename a group of files

I need to rename a group of image files. However, I want to rename them only with odd numbers, so that fileA, fileB and fileC become File1, File3, File5, File7, etc.

I know this can be easily done by Batch Programming but as i donot know that much batch programming can any member(user) can make a batch programming and give it to me for doing my said thing.

Or if there is another way u can also give that process.

Its very very urgent.

use irfanview's batch renaming feature

in the options use increment of 2 intead of 1
so depending on wat no u start with [either even or odd] u will get the same type of number in the whole batch
