I want a UPS which has the best voltage regulation features . My area is worst affected in the summer where voltages drop tremendously. Will a UPS do the job or should I look for a stabilizer?

PC conf- AMD 3000+,1GB RAM, 2 HDDS, 2 Optical Drives, 6600GT

average backup would do ( 10 mins or so).

wats the voltage when @ max voltage drop.if its below 185v then APC is out of the question.
if below 165V then ruleout powercom and think bout getting Microtek though i wont be able to tell u if the Microtek will work below 165V but the Powercom works for anything above 165v that i can tell 4 sure as i hav 1.

i dont know the max drop
But Microtek 800VA double battery UPS doesn't work at that voltage( it goes into backup mode, after every voltage drop)

but, my Wipro 500VA emerge handles it fairly well . Is there anything better than Wipro when it comes to AVR

APC SmartUPS is what you should be looking at. They cost double of what the normal ones cost though! I have a 1500VA one that costed me roughly 18 grand. Never seen it go to battery backup mode because of voltage drops/spikes. It has an inbuilt AVR.
