Need help for my friend.. My friend's nexus 5 got water damaged, he used N5 for 1 year till jan 2015, after that he did not purchased any device.. He wanted to buy oneplus one but because of same hardware he dropped idea of buying oneplus 1.. sd810 heating issue, again oneplus 2 dropped.. What should he do now? He wants mobile badly.. He can wait for new nexus if hardware is more than sd810..
Please guide him..

1. Suggest chip level repair shop in mumbai for nexus 5
I found one repair shop online in Goregaon, mumbai but it's closed for now onwards.
Please suggest some good shops.
2. Other thing is that he wants to sell his n5, he heard that, bhangarwala give you 100-200rs for dead device.. But bhangarwala gets good price for that dead device by selling it to right person.
I mean to say some company take your dead device and give you good money for working parts.

It'll be ignored by samsung for updates and would stuck at lollipop forever. Better get her a Moto G3 or Lumia 640XL.
Even Mi 4 would be a lot better hardware wise.
Lack of a few sensors.
Samsung's mid-range are not guaranteed software updates.
Overall it seems a good phone with a nice amoled screen. I would say its a good buy if you can get discounts on it (Flipkart's sale is not very far).
I considered it too, before opting to go for Moto X Play.

Stuck at Lollipop, that should be fine
Also it has necessary sensors, accelerometer, proximity n light sensor
I kept it as 2nd option because of Samsung brand, decent performance, good screen & great battery life
She wants a 5.5" phone. I won't consider anything other than android, because of easy troubleshooting
And yeah, i'll buy it from Flipkart during its sale

Better try to get a broken screen mobile of same model. You may get what is needed now. Try this option only as Chip Level repair may have own problems.

Because OP2 has better dev support due to Qualcomm S810 & S810 performs better than kirin 935, which has a weak GPU. Also OP2 has dual SIM which adds to a bit of practicality

2 reason i'll choose OP2 over Honor 7: near stock Android & dev support. Those who don't care about dev support or happy with the stock looks, Honor 7 got one of the best camera.
How about waiting for Moto X Style 32GB? Better camera compared to LG G4. Stock Android (6.0).
Note 4 & A8 are both using last gen 32bit chipset. Performance mayn't be noticeable but then again 30k isn't a small amount.

G4 is the best under 35k, if you want stock Android go for Motorola X Style. But check before buying whether style in India comes with dual sim or not.

Moto X Style is heavy at 180g.
The phone is for my dad, not me... So I'm pretty sure, he would not like the plain simple stock android
He currently uses Honor 4X, which he feels is a bit heavy for his comfort. Also he wants a phone from a big company (brand value)
I guess camera is a debatable topic, but still I personally think S6(all variants), Note 5 & G4 have the best smartphone camera. So despite the fact G4 has poor battery life compared to 4X, I'm aligned towards it.
I considered A8 because of its battery life & looks(again a debatable thing). Although its SoC is old, its a great performer, screen is great. Camera may not be as good as G4 or X Style, but still its good. Also its a Samsung phone
I suggested A8 & G4 to him. Lets see what he decides

It's the A9 which will debut with the Qualcomm SD620, it will probably launch by Jan 2016. It will be a phablet of 5.5 or 6 inch screen.

Not A8, just A5, A7 & new A9
Indian A8 has Exynos which has performance better than S801, a bit inferior to S808 of G4 (not noticable in real life)
Also A8's display is great. Colour reproduction is better than that of G4. I'm considering G4 just because of its camera, nothing else... A8 is a better phone otherwise

Also one thing that GSMArena pointed out is that when the display is set to auto brightness mode, under sunlight the maximum brightness pushes further above what's possible manually

I have used both S6 Edge & G4, S6 definitely had a better display than G4. Although its battery life is just bit better than G4 in real life usage. But that Turbocharger is really fast. My friend's S6 Edge charges from 20% - 100% in 1 hr
