Currently using MTNL ADSL broadband & I will be transferring the same connection to our new home.
I have laid D Link Cat6 cable for MTNL telephone line from main MTNL Box of the society to our flat & also ran Cat6 cable to both bedrooms & living room for wired internet purpose.
Now I have following queries so please guide me.
1. The main MTNL box is placed just outside Electric meter room & builder has passed all telephone & intercom wires through plastic pipes from electric meter room while the cat6 cable which I have ran is open. I want to know if there will be any disturbance in telephone line if its passing through electric meter room.
What precaution should I take to avoid noise in line? Can reroute the wire from outside but do not find it to be secure enough.
2. Is length of cat6 wire major issue for telephone line as well as internet line in house from ADSL router modem?
Our flat is on 9th floor & used almost 45 - 50 metre cable for telephone line while within the house used at the most 20-25 metre cable used for wired net.
3. Should I crimp RJ45 Cat6 connectors on both end of the cable making it patch cord for wired net or use RJ45 Cat 6 Jack from Anchor Roma /GreatWhite in between?
Using Cat 6 RJ45 modular Jack & then ready made patch cords will look neat but no point if the internet speed gets hampered.
4. Currently using TP Link 8968 wireless ADSL router modem but planning for something powerful for wireless setup.
Suggest if there is any other powerful ADSL router modem with wide coverage OR I must get 2 separate devices i.e wired ADSL Modem & WiFi Router.
I am planning to get Philips Soundbar with wireless Subwoofer which works on 2.4 Ghz frequency so there should not be any issue of connectivity.
Placement of router modem will be centrally located in passage but signal should pass through multiple walls.
Area for coverage is small just short of 1000 Sq feet.
In future may get Jio Broadband so need to buy devices accordingly.
