Hello guys,
We recently got a Static IP in our office, we will be running a web server from a computer, The connection is shared in the network and hence other computers also use the same connection. we have done a few port forwards to our pc's , and most computers have uptodate KIS Antivirus/Firewall and OS Updates.

What precautions should I take?

Also when I enter the IP address in the browser I obviously get the Modem Authentication Page, how do I disable this?

I read about DMZ but didnt understand it properly.

There are a lot of configurations like
* Disable ping requests from external network
* HTTP from LAN, WAN
* Security options

....depending upon the router. Explore these. Routers give you sufficient security. If you are still not satisfied, then may be you can explore IpTables and SELinux. As a general precaution, do not forward ports like telnet, ssh etc to the web server.
