what does the word RIG mean in reference to computer?

In computer terms, RIG can be defined collectively as the combination of each and every part of a PC setup along with any of its accessories.

Usage: Damn, that gaming RIG cost me a fortune.

In non computer terms, well, better not search for it.

In non computer terms it means oilrig normally. Also IMO it is a forum exclusive word. In face to face discussion normally we do not use this word. Instead we say MY SYSTEM or COMPUTER or MACHINE or wrongly MY CPU.

I can tell you that its pretty much used all the time (face-2-face, digitally) between people who are passionate about their "rigs" (aka nerdy people) - offices, college campuses, schools, everywhere, even between the fairer sex!
