Facing some issue with remote desktop.
I have a desktop PC. By default its part of workgroup.
My office laptop is part of a domain & I carry it home sometimes. Both have XP.

Remote desktop connection works well when both are on LAN either ways.

However when both are on internet (One system on Airtel mobile net & another on Tata Photon) I can only do RDP from home pc to laptop but never other ways round even if I switch ISPs between the two. I have even tried temporarily disabling the home PC firewall but RDP to home pc does not work.

Both have username / password set. Office laptop has its domain uid/pwd and home pc has local username password. Any clues to enable RDP to home PC would be great. Thx

Alternatively you can use TeamViewer to manipulate one PC from another.Give it a try.

Yes with local IP it does work well i.e. over LAN either using crossover cable or thru a router.
When on internet the issue comes.
