recover boot in vista (hp)

bymistake i did this....removed linux partition wich had my boot record previously....now system fails 2 boot though thrs no problem wit vista....wat 2b done now?

You could try on s/w tools like:
Vista Boot Pro
EasyBCD
oops.. no.. ur vista dvd will have an option to repair it... restart comp booting into vista dvd.. on the install screen, you will get an option to repair it.

btw, if you were on Hardy earlier, use its other feature where in you dont hafta create any ext3 partition.. install it as a s/w in vista, but still run on its own.. so then.. you would not have to worry about your boot record getting corrupted

• Boot from the Vista DVD.
• Select Repair your Computer from the Installation Menu.
• Select Startup Repair
• Let the tool run and do it's things, it's automatic.
• Reboot and u are done.

they dint supply any vista dvd wit it neither i have ne....i jus hv a recovery partition wich has vista setup....can i use it for repair....hv 2 press F11 2 get into recovery setup....but hw 2 repair my boot thr?

It may be there. I do not know about it specifically, but there is a complete restore option for sure.

But how come you dint get the recovery disks?

Vendors usually does not ship the laptop with a Installation Disk. They always have a recovery partition in the HDD to recover things when PC goes bad. Furthermore, users can ask for a Original Installation Disk and they will surely provide it.

HP doesnt provide recovery disks.. You can make them yourself by using recovery manager.

actually v have an option for creating recovery disks but twill work same as dat hdd partition.....its backup for further messing up even wit ur recovery partition....well lemme c...if thrs option in recovery for doin nething wit dat....i cant format cz i need my data....

A recovery disk is something different. If you make those disks and boot from then and recover then it'll format and create partitions and install stuff exactly like how you got it when you bought it. A better way is to get the Vista DVD and boot from it to recover the mbr. It'll be like a backup disk in emergencies like these.

better download it, you cannot recreate it on your own for windows though you can do that for linux.
