Recommend a 55 Inch TV for daily use

₹40K - 55K

2. Display type and size?
50-55 Inch

3. What will the TV/monitor be used for primarily?
TV will be used in hall to watch SD content ( Tata Sky ), occasionally HD 4K movies/series from OTT.

4. Types and number of ports required?
not sure HDMI, USB port should be enough

5. Preferred choice of brand?
Thinking of getting something like TCL or Hisense or Toshiba

6. Any TV/monitor in consideration?

Currently we are using Sony 22 inch LCD tv ( which we bought 8 years back ) along with fire stick gen1 and Chromecast gen1.
Top half is gone partially black now, but tv is working.

Will 55 inch be a significant jump?

I was searching through various forums and there are lot of TVs present in this price range.

But not able to decide, which one to choose.

Earlier I was thinking of buying a Hisense U6G TV ( But recently came to know that Hisense, Toshiba and VU service is not very good )

I am currently thinking of buying TCL P635 or VU GLOLED for less than 40 K
or should I spend around 58K and buy Sony or 70k for LG A2
or should I spend around 50-60K to buy TOSHIBA 55M650MP (Mini LED) or VU Masterpiece Glo 55QMP or TCL 55C825 (Mini LED)

Would it be better to wait until Diwali ( November ) and buy?

I am planning to buy from offline store in Hyderabad ( Chroma or Reliance Digital ) during Independence day hoping they will have a sale or card discount.

Any suggestions would be helpful

Why not Sony or LG ? They have the best picture quality.
OP... I would advice to check the brightness. I facing this issue with my edge lit Samsung. I was not able to enjoy the movie "kandahar" at day time. Full array backlit is always better.

TCL brings poor quality models to India is what I heard.

IMO get Sony X74K for its upscaler & better colour tuning.

During Independence Day sale, you might get LG A2 48" for 65k again. Good choice, but since primary usage is DTH, IMO avoid it.

55" 4K will be a significant jump. Although even a budget 55" 4K feel so for you. So can get Vu Premium 55" for under 35k during sale & be done with it, provided you live in a big city with Vu's service centre. Get extended warranty from Vu as well, heard its 3k for 2 years extra.

Yes, Diwali sale should have better offers. Your call on if worth waiting. For DTH, you don't need a top-notch TV.

LG UR7500 55 inch.If you buy before 30th Sep 23 you get 2 years warranty from LG.Its a 2023 model with IPS screen & HDMI 2.1
