RAM Upgrade Advise?

Hi,

Pls advise additional 2GB or 4GB for the following config of my desktop:

OS: Windows XP Pro SP3 (Kernel Version 5.1.2600.5512)
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 635
MB: Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H
Existing RAM: 2GB Kingston DDR3 1333MHz

2gb.... Then you'll have total of 4gb ram but It'll still use only 3gb on 32bit os . If you want to use all you have to go for a 64bit os.

Assuming that

OS: Windows XP Pro SP3 (Kernel Version 5.1.2600.5512)

is a 32 bit OS, you should go with 2GB of ram. If you can manage 64bit XP, then you can go with 4 GB ram.

I would have loved to go W7 way & I also have that.

But the irony is that have 2 softwares non-compatible with W7 and have not heard great reviews of W7 XP Boot feature.

Have W7 Pro on all my other systems.

1) Tally 7.2
2) Locally developed Invoicing Software.

Run them in compatibility mode, or install vmware & inside it install win xp & run your software.
