Dear All,

I am upgrading my system to have i7 4770 and MSI z87 GD65 mobo from my current i3 530/intel HM55.
As well as i will be adding either R9-280x or 270x to it. What will be the min Watt rating that PSU will require to support the system.

System specs -:

MSI Z87 GD65
G skill Ripjaws 8 GB 1333MHz
R9 270x / R9 280x
1TB WD HDD
500GB Transcend HDD

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: Nothing. Will use my old SATA WD 1TB and Transcend 500GB 7200 RPM HDD.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.

Ans:RAM Gskill Ripjaws 2X4GB 1333Mhz

Why a Z87 MB for non k CPU if it cannot be overlocked instead take MSI H87M-G45.
Why 1333MHz RAM instead of it go for Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 8GB.OK.
Your Min PSU requirement will be 484watts and maximum will be 534watts.So Seasonic S12II 520 is more than sufficient for your above configuration.(If adding R9 280x GPU)
You can check your PSU requirement here: eXtreme Power Supply Calculator

@OP; for PSU, you should get a 520 W or 600 W PSU to be safe. And as bavusani has already mentioned, there is no need fo a Z87 board for a non k CPU.

Actually i already have 8gb ram from my prev config. Just a question.should i go for i7 4770 or i5 4670k. Which one is better for gaming. I will updating my system one by one. Lastly the monitor to 22 or 24. Will it suffice the game requirements

For pure gaming i would recommend i5-4670 non-k it will suffice all your needs, so better spend more on graphics...
Monitor is completly your choice(my vote goes to 21.5" dell S2240L)
No need to upgrade rams :)

If you haven't purchased the new config, then why not start a new thread in "PC Config" section?

i suggest to get the following
i5 4570 (14000)
Asus b85m g (6500)

antec gx 700- 4000 or cosair carbide 400r- 5500
seasonic s12 ii 620 - (5200)
Lenovo M6811 (700)
any KB (700)
since you have budget of ~~75k, it is better to wait for amd r9 290x or expect a price drop in gtx 780.
