1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: The rig is purely for gaming purposes. I have a 4k TV, so i might connect the rig to it once in a while but i intend to game on my 1080p monitor mostly.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: Have a budget of Rs. 2,50,000. Can extend to a max of Rs. 2,80,000.
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Nope
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10 Home (need to buy this as well, it's available for 7,999 right?)
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: Already have a 2TB drive. I wanted to put in an SSD to reduce the boot times. Don't want to spend too much on the SSD. I think the drive should just be enough for the OS installation only. (256GB or 512GB should be more than enough).
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Already have it and its got a resolution of 1080p.
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I already have a CM Stryker cabinet and a 700W Corsair PSU. If the new rig requires any more power, i would like to buy a new PSU as well then. Need to buy a decent gaming keyboard and mouse too. Any decent speakers will do as well. Like the creative ones that come around 2K.
I also, have a GTX 660. Since DX12 is here, i was not planning on changing this but i can only buy it now or it will be never. So i would like to upgrade to a powerful GPU as well. Don't want to go for Titan-X cause i feel like it's too expensive for it's cost to performance ratio. Any card that can give me 60-100 fps on 1080p for most game will suffice. I might just put them in SLI (GTX 660 and the new card. There are boards that support hybrid SLI/Crossfire right? I'm no Nvidia fanboy and if the AMD card is better, then by all means, please suggest)
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Have to buy before 8th Aug, 2015. It's the ultimate deadline, after that no PC.
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Built my last PC on my own. Will build this one as well.
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:I live in Delhi. I'm planning to buy most of the stuff from Nehru Place but if i get a better deal on some online shop, then why not.
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
