Hello to everyone,:p
I am having Sony DCRTRV 340 e handycam (digital) & P-3 1.13 Ghz system with 256 mb ram installed with PCI firewire card(1394). Now problem is that whenever I capture video using firewire card its not as good as it should be even in DV format( which is almost loss less) thinking about this now i am shifting to hp pavilllion laptop.
So i would like to ask u  wether my current 1394 card will be usefull or i would require to purchase new and also whether internal 1394 card will be available.

Please recommend a good video capturing software price no bar.(Preferably without video review window to minimise memmory consumption.)

There is nothing to do with your firewire card for video quality.

The problem may be with your 1. Camera or the 2. DV Codec

I assume, your camera is good. You can try to capture in another DV Codecs like Avid, Canopus, MainConcept, Sony, Panasonic, Matrox or BlackMagic DV Codecs. I personally like AVID and Panasonic Codecs.

If you are not satisfied any of the above you can try some lossless codecs like HuffYUV, MSU, PicVideo or MJPEG or PhotoJpeg.
