hello friends am looking for a laptop mainly for internet surfing and low end gaming .
lookin for 14"/ C2D/WiFi/LED and without Windows
I have seen some models like compaq presario CQ40-616TU and CQ40-610TU
as these provide me good config for aroung 32k
please suggest me soem other models too . I saw the acer 5542 model posted earlier in the thred . that looks good also .
but I have also heard that AMD processors heat up earlier than Intel one's .
Is it true?
Also are compaq models worth buying ?

in thats range the acer 5542 is the best buy. go for it.
& its an old myth that amd processors heat up.
they dont.
you can buy them without worrying abt the overheating.

Hi buddy

For your budget,i recommend dell inspiron 14 model no.-(S541213IN8) for around 34k.
It comes with core i3 330m processor with ati radeon 4330 512mb graphics.
So ditch the core 2 duo and go for core i3 which has hyperthreading.

Have myself bought a LENOVO G550 Series Laptop in November 09 for Rs. 34500/-(Intel Graphics) and another for my friend last week for 39500/- (NVDIA Graphics)
both are absolutely fantastic
The Config :
Intel C2D T6600 (2.2Ghz) Proc
3GB DDR3 RAM
320GB HDD
15.6" LCD
Inbuilt Cam, Wifi, bluetooth etc...

off all brand I found it the Best & Cheap than others so i can suggest you to go for LENOVO

Thanks for your valuable suggestion, dell model looks amazing for this budget I think .
Its price is around 35k including graphic card.
can you please tell me if how much extra I'll have to pay apart from this price -- delivery charges and any hidden charges if any ?

the advantage of AMD config is a great HD3200 IGP subsystem for HD videos + casual gaming....

so choose according to priorities..

yes, there are two models which I decided.
one is compaq CQ40-601TU
dual core ,14", 3GB , 320GB and all other accesories and altec lansing speakers.DOS
it costs around 28k. seems good config for daily usage

other one is new inspiron 14 basic config around 33k including wiondows 7 home premium and 2GB DDR3 1066, 250GB HDD, core i3 also gud config .. but win7 Home prem basic requirement is also 2 GB RAM .. so will add graphic card for sure .. add extra 2k ..
