I got a 2GB pen drive as a gift from ICICI bank. Unbranded.

When I insert it into any of the USB ports, it shows "Removable Device" but I am unable to copy any data into it or even format it. It just locks up when I try to access the drive.

Is it damaged? my OS is Vista

There was no switch..but lemme check again...
but... even if it is write protected, it should not hang or lock up, correct?

I cant even right click and choose properties. It just freezes

may be its not installed properly ,go to device manager and check wether the device is well detected and well functioning(find it by clickin in generic volume) and check wether it supports windows vista or not.try checking it on others computer having xp.and did u write somthin before if so, then any how try formatin it and check for virus if possible....:)

Hmm,

A pen drive which behaves like a corrupt memory card, isnt it? Well, Vista isnt supposed to do that,, I guess you better listen to what he says!
