one more doubt.

just got a p4 1.7 ghz + gigabyte GA-8LD 533c-p mobo. There is no agp. should i install a pci gfx 5200 version or should i go for internal gpu with more ram ???

or should i simply go for a new board with agp as entry level boards are available for as low as 3000. ( any way i can sell my old board for half the price )..

THE REASON FOR MY DOUBT IS :: AGP CARD IS BETTER THAN PCI CARD W/THE SAME CHIPSET::??

AGP based board would be your best bet mate. No on-board solutions are good even if you do increase the RAM. AGP is dedicated to graphics related processing and hence it is the better option. Whats your budget ?

hey,

This wont be my gaming pc as i have 2 gaming pc's with agp's for myself. Just managed to grab these for free, so i was just planing to make a pc on them for my bro. He plays games a lot, hence my doubt. Any way, will try to get a board with agp, till dt using the same old onboard gpu. will let u know once i found a budjet board from lamington road, The problem is many boards supports only ADD card, although they have an AGP slot on board !.

Ya, u should go for a AGP mobo rather then spending on a PCI mobo. Even a 915 motherboard will help u, becoz it has an onboard powerfull graphics. So it will be a good option.
