Dear friends,
I have decided to upgrade my pc to a core 2 duo machine, an entry level gaming machine with future upgrade-ability in mind. I have found some options but I don't know which one to prefer according to price/performance/warranty. My budget is around 18K. I found the options from here. Please help!
My selections are:
Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 LGA 775 2.93 GHz______________________Rs. 5.1k

Motherboards:
Gigabyte GA-G31ME-S2L_____________________________________Rs. 2.4k
Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L_____________________________________Rs. 2.9k
MSI P43 Neo3-F_____________________________________________Rs. 4.6k

Graphics:
ATI:
XFX HD4650 512MB DDR2____________________________________Rs. 3.1k
ASUS HD4650 512MB DDR2___________________________________Rs. 3.1k
Sapphire HD4550 512MB GDDR3______________________________Rs. 2.7k

nVidia:
Palit GF210 512MB DDR2_____________________________________Rs. 2.6k
Zotac GT210 512MB DDR2____________________________________Rs. 2.6k

Kingston 1GB DDR2 800MHz * 2_______________________________Rs. 2.4k

Seagate or Western Digital 500 GB Sata HDD___________________Rs. 2.5k

Lite-On iHAS124 Sata Super All Write___________________________Rs. 1k
Lite-On iHAS324 Sata Super All Write___________________________Rs. 1k

I also have a Seagate 320 GB hdd + a Hauppauge TV Tuner card, which i'll be using with this new config. So, I couldn't decide on power supply and cabinet. So, I request you all to guide me on this too. Please help me to decide on the best possible config with upgrade-ability on the available resources. Thanks in advance!

not a newbie.....
I suggest u go for AMD like the phenom II 555 which is a dual core processor. but u will need motherboards with AM3 sockets. Also go with 2GB DDR3 ram. and for power supply i suggest u get the corsair VX450. i am not that good in hardware so first check with someone before considering my options :)

with this config, i will say

I have decided to upgrade my pc to a core 2 duo machine, an entry level gaming machine with future upgrade-ability in mind.

this statement is invalid.

i'll rather suggest, get Athlon II X2/X3. 780G based board. 2Gb DDR2. for card, if you can spend more, get HD5670 512Mb by skipping the hard drive. else with the current config, i doubt your config will last for long. not even 2010.

thanks all for you replies, really appreciate it. Thanks!
I have a Compaq Presario SR1702IL computer, and this is the best i've got. It's still running fine, no problem. But I want an Intel based machine this time just for a change.
So guys, can you please suggest a config based on Intel Core processor series.
I need an entry level gaming machine in less than 20k. Core i3 or Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Duo will be fine, but Core i5 or Core i7 are costly. I also want to use the machine for virtualization to try new OSes.

Thanks for all the configs you guys posted. If I couldn't find any Intel based configs, then I would surely select one of those. Thanks!

Thanks in advance!
