1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans: Posting for a friend, he has a 8year old laptop which has run its course. He's starting a yt channel and getting back into gaming after 3-4 years, he needs it for video editing and light gaming.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.
Ans: 90k-100k(if performance is improved by a lot)

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: windows

5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: 1tb ssd only.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: yes. 1440p with 120Hz minimum

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: need everything

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: by Holi

9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: assembler

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Bangalore. If anyone knows any shops, it's be a great help.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:
1. Will be buying a 2nd hand GPU. What should be an ideal price for used RTX3070 or RX6700xt?

2.This is what we have decided. If anything can be improved, please let me know.
CPU i5 13500 23k
GPU 3070 2nd hand 25k
RAM 3k Kingston Fury16GB DDR4
MOBO MSI Pro B760M 14k
SSD 4.5k WD Blue
CABINET 4k
PSU Deepcool 650W 5k
Acer Nitro 1440p 180Hz 27" 19k

3. Is it better to go with an AMD build at this price point? Will it be cheaper?

4. If I wanted to cut prices somewhere in this build, where could i do it?

1. Get used 6700XT for 20k with about 1 year warranty remaining, Sapphire, Asus, MSI or Gigabyte are good.

2. AMD build :
pcpricetracker.in/b/s/43b42939-20db-43a9-ac22-37ec999d0950

GPU - 20k
Monitor - 20k - Acer XV272U V3
Total - 100k

Visit Ankit Infotech (PCStudio) & Super Computer in SP Road.

3. AMD is cheaper but lacks an iGPU. Decide if you want to be in this situation, else can use the i5 13500 + MSI B760M Pro A WiFi DDR4 instead, will cost 4-5k more in total. 5700X3D with DDR4 RAM should outperform i5 13500 with DDR4 RAM in games (by a bit) as below tests are with top of the line memory. Productivity performance is better on Intel, so if you can spend the extra 5k, can get Intel because of less hassle.

4. Not much is possible

Thanks, will go for an intel build as he's thinking to add a gpu later on.
Are there an cheaper mobos for the i5 13500? Wifi is not necessary on the mobo.

No, B760M Pro A was the cheapest mobo with good VRM. Check Hardware Unboxed's VRM testing of B660 mobos with i7 12700 & i9 12900K, see if something else got cheaper recently. B760 mobos are same as their B660 counterparts in most cases, still no harm in double checking the VRM config.

a 12700F is around 24k now-wouldn't it be a better option for gaming as compared to 13500? (if igpu not considered)

How about the 14500?its selling for around the same price as the 13500.
Good to go, it is literally the same chip, didn't even get a small IPC upgrade like 13th gen got over 12th gen. Likely just a 0.1GHz all core freq bump, worth the extra ₹500-600.

Stock 13600K will outperform 14500 easily but former didn't get any major price cuts.
