The most common error I always get is NTLDR missing. II have formatted my System many time, I never get such error Before, But now (almost 20 days) Every after 3 or 4 days I get such Error. Every time I have to repair that. 4 times I have formatted my system completly, but the problem remains same. I use WinXP SP1 genuine version. Plz help . Is it due to some type of virus or something else. BTW I have Quick Heal total Internet Security 2008 Installed on my sytem

Insert the Windows XP bootable CD into the computer.
When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key.
Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows.
Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter.
You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password.
Copy the below two files to the root directory of the primary hard disk. In the below example we are copying these files from the CD-ROM drive letter, which in this case is "e." This letter may be different on your computer.

copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\
copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

Once both of these files have been successfully copied, remove the CD from the computer and reboot.

Then upgrade to Windows Xp Sp3 if you can or atleast to SP2 (its free :D)

ancientrites

In the zone
heres the option that you get while you format

1* Format the partition by using the NTFS file system (Quick)
2* Format the partition by using the FAT file system (Quick)
3* Format the partition by using the NTFS file system
4* Format the partition by using the FAT file system
5* Leave the current file system intact (no changes)

apply the 3rd option.please dont even go for 1st option as most of them use for quick format.
if this doesnt solve then please follow saqib_khan notes.one more thing pls use sp2 or sp3 .if you dont have sp2 or sp3 then download entire windows xp sp3 from Source hope you understand what i mean.

Man
Get rid of QuickHeal!!!!!!
its dtection rate is really, really, really low......
Use Kaspersky Internet Security (Paid version)
Or avast!, AVG or Avira (these are free versions)
They are far better than $h!ty QuickHeal..
Find them in the Antivirus thread stickied in Software Troubleshooting

As far as your RHDTCL (whatever) prob goes,
use the recovery console in XP installation CD to copy the file to your HDD
