Hi,

I know this question has been asked many times on this forum and the admin would like me to search the forum before opening a new thread, but I could not find a suitable config for my budget. So guys will you please help me. I have a budget of around 30k +- 5k. I want to build this system for my friend and want to be based on Pentium D or Allendales (Core 2 Duo) as conroe would be out of my budget. The system should be upgradeable in the future.

Do you want to play games or is it just for general usage?
Can you reuse your old monitor, keyboard, mouse, optical drives, hard-disk, speakers?

Anyways,
Intel E6300 Rs. 9,500
Asus P5LD2-VMSE Rs. 4,900
1 GB DDR667 MHz Rs. 5,000
Seagate 120GB SATA Rs. 3,000
Liteon DVD-writer Rs. 2,000
Cabinet+400W PS Rs. 2,200
Logiteck kbd+mouse Rs. 1,000
Creative SBS370 2.1 Rs. 1,200
Samsung 17" CRT Rs. 6,200

Total Rs. 35,000

With the above configuration you can go for Intel 102 motherboard and 2.8 dual core. Also 512 DDR2 will be sufficient.

No point going for the deluxe version of the mobo unless you plan to overclock. And no point overclocking unless you are a gamer.
You need to get atleast 1 GB of RAM. 512 MB won't allow the Core 2 Duo to perorm to it's max potential.

Intel E6300 Rs. 9,500
Asus P5W DH Deluxe don't know
I suggest you get this board instead Intel D965RY Rs. 7,200
512MB DDR667 MHz Rs. 2,300, 1 GB for Rs. 4,600
Seagate 160GB SATA Rs. 3,200
Liteon DVD-writer Rs. 2,000
Cabinet+400W PS Rs. 2,200
Logiteck kbd+mouse Rs. 1,000
Creative Inspire 2.1 Rs. 1,900
Viewsonic 17" CRT FLAT Rs. 6,500

What about the graphics. Does this board have onboard graphics or i have to buy a seperate card because this will stretch my budget which has already crossed Rs. 35k

The Asus P5W DH Deluxe does not have onboard graphics and it's anyways to expensive for your budget.
The Asus P5LD2-VMSE has onboard graphics and is among the cheapest mobo's for Core 2 Duo procesors.

But this board is a 945 chipset. Isn't it better to go for a Q965 chipset based motherboard

Yes it would be better to go for a 965 chipset based mobo over this.
Consider the Intel D965RY for Rs. 7200 if you want a 965 based mobo.
