Disclaimer: This is not to bash Chrome. In fact, it shows how unbiased Chrome's SSL behavior is.

Open GMail and go to its settings. Scroll to the bottom and make it always use HTTPS.

Re-Login into GMail with Chrome and from the links on the top left, open Reader. :D

Not exactly. As I told above, it has been unbiased in its implementation of SSL warnings. What happens in that case is, request for Reader is sent as HTTPS request, but the link redirects leading Google to suspicion.

I posted only because I found it a bit interesting.

It displays an SSL error and warns that the site is trying to re-direct from the URL you had initially asked and it can be an attack site.

It shows a red warning display which you can decide to override.

I have already reported it as a bug to Google.
