Issues after creator's update

Hi Friends,

I updated my Win 10 to the creators update last week and the update sucks. I am facing few issues-
1. Whenever I open a photo, jpeg, png or any format doesn't matter, the photo window is not full screen. I have to click on the maximize button to make the window go full screen.
2. The Windows is installed on a Harassement-Packard laptop. The brightness automatically increases to the fullest like once in an hour. It comes back to the normal after few minutes or we have to manually decrease the brightness.

How to fix both issues?

Thanks

Yes, battery is draining fast as compared to before.
Is there any way to fix the screen brightness thing without reverting back?

Legend Never Ends
Thing is after the update, your settings are reverted to "Factory" form. So any processes that you had turned off before. Secondly, get the updated drivers from HP's site to make sure it isn't a driver issue.

Can you check if you HDD usage is high when idle ? The superfetch process may be keeping it busy in the background(I had this issue too after updating)

Sir the links tell us to lower the brightness level to fix it. Mine is already at the second lowest level, sometimes I select the lowest level, due to some eye issue. I also noted one thing the screen brightens up mostly, not all the time, when the screen is about to go all black(can't recall the exact term for this) after xx minutes of idle time. Any other help?

Can't update the drivers because of this-
Display driver errors, OS or HP issue?
Windows 10 weird issues

I also thought that it could be an Intel driver issue but I cannot go back to the same errors everytime :( Any permanent fix for this?
The HDD usage is normal dear. What is superfetch process? Where to look for it exactly?

@whitestar_999
Need you valuable advice Sir.

it seems like Intel drivers are not working properly.
I also get the Intel Display driver stopped working popup while using Firefox and which is due to flash player issue.
So, I run major applications using my NVIDIA GPU instead of intel :)

Agree. Did you find any fix for the Intel error? What you suggested in the last line was suggested last year also by other members but it did not work.

I actually ignored that error and started using NVIDIA GPU and never ever got that error again.
and mostly I got that error in Firefox only (as I said due to flash).

Rest of the applications are working fine in Intel.

But, I also started using IOBit driver updater which is pretty good and scans and finds outdated drivers in your system. You should give it a try :)

I received that error anytime irrespective of the app that I am using.
Actually Harassement-Packard customizes drivers for its systems. If I use IOBit then it will download and install the driver from Intel's website which will automatically be downgraded or reverted back to the driver made by them. Give those threads a check if you get time. I have tried almost every solution.

Its OK to use a downgraded driver if the system works smoothly...getting a latest driver always doesn't mean the system will be stable after installing it.

I know. I was using a downgraded stable version by Harassement-Packard only but with the creator's update I guess it is messed up.

Check the display driver version again to confirm creator's update has not changed it.

@Zangetsu @whitestar_999
I confirm the screen brightens up only before it is going to sleep i.e. before the inactivity timeout.
The file name of the driver which they installed last year was TestBuild137724. Now I clicked on the setup of the same to check the version number in setup but I got this-

How in the world is this version not validated for the computer anymore?
Device manager shows this version installed-

What should I do?

Thanks

Try that one,is it the same version that was working correctly before creator's update.
Actually none of their drivers were able to stop the Intel error which I faced for like 6 months last year. So, finally some IT guy from their team sent some version via ftp link which was outdated but it stopped those errors. I never updated the Intel driver afterwards and everything was working fine. Now after the creator's update, brightness is the only thing which is bugging me. So, I am skeptical about updating the driver from their site.

try this tool to adjust brightness 10 Tools to Adjust Laptop and Monitor Brightness, Gamma or Contrast Levels • Raymond.CC
may be some auto detector script these tools have to adjust brightness to custom value.

Do I really need a software for this? I mean the screen brightens up only before going into sleep mode. If yes then please tell me which one should I download from that list?
