Is wireless router better than normal wired one?

i mean with wireless router can i access internet anywhere in the home(with lappy).
i currently hav normal wired LAN router connected to pc(desktop).
it is new one.
Can wireless router will able to connect both laptop and desktop so that i can access internet.

if yes then Can I exchange wired router with wireless one?

Most wireless router have both type of connectivity...wired and wifi.

If you have wifi LAN card on both lappy and desktop..than U can connect both wifi.

Else, you can do....connect desktop wired with LAN wire and lappy wifi.
