Is refilling HP 678 a reliable option?

I have HP 2545 deskjet printer and it uses HP 678 cartridge. Recently while buying a new cartridge at a stationary shop, the shopkeeper suggested me to go for a refill than buying a new one.
I bought a new HP cartridge anyways, but just wondering if refill at a cheaper cost would be a good option?

Has anyone tried it? How is the reliability and performance?

When I probed more, the shopkeeper (may be as a part of selling tactic) said that he has done it many times and not a single customer so far has complained about it.

Filling with duplicate ink will just clog the head when printer is not used for more than a month. If printer is frequently used then it is not much of a problem.

Refilling cartridges is only good for regular user who uses printing extensively because refilling is much cheaper.

But some hp printers doesn't support refilled cartridges. so keep this in your mind before spending money.
