internal harddrive for laptop

i have lenovo laptop (y410 model no(7757-42q)), i want to upgrade my laptop hard drive to 1TB.(it contains sata hard drive of 120 GB, 2gb ram).
first query-will it support 1TB hard drive
2nd query-which internal hard drive will be best for this and where i can find out and approx at what price.

yes it will support 1TB,
rather than upgrading the HDD(which will render your older HDD unused) buy portable external drives of 1TB which come in 3-4K range

Hi saurav.

I am also having the same Y410. Also want to upgrade. What I am thinking is :

1. Buy a External USB powered harddisk of 500 GB(or more).
2. Open that External Harddisk and use the Harddisk inside it for my Laptop internal storage.
3. Use my old internal harddisk by putting in the External Usb Harddisk case, from which Harddisk is removed.

My dobut is, Whether I will be able to use the extracted harddisk with my laptop? i.e. will it have same connector?

The reason for all this crap is because I am getting External disk of 500 GB size at approx 2500, while the same size internal harddisk is priced about Rs. 3200 or so. And I am price conscious.

Anyone with a view or experience, kindly share.
