.phenom II X4 costs 5-6k and i5 costs 9-10k.if you are ready to spend 10k then i5 is your best choice if not then Phenom.but my suggestion is gaming experience depends upon graphics card.In gaming you won't find any difference between phenom and i5.there is a very very little difference which your eyes won't be able to recognize.so if you want to buy a comp then fill the pc building questionnaire template.

none of the mentioned processor can provide you with good gaming experience if you make a one-sided rig (read combining i5 with a GT510/520).
