I want a intel motherboard for P4 3.00 GHz(HT) with 800/1060 MHz FSB under Rs 7000/-. It must allow me to install the OS on a sata HDD dirctly without any driver or third party utility.
Is there any 965 based board from MSI or GIGABYTE suitable for my budget ?

That Intel D102GGC2 motherboard has got ATI Radeon X200 series onboard graphics, which is much better than a 965. Plus it has PCIe slot, SATA and DDR2 capable. More info here

You are probably confusing 965 with 950 or 945. Intel G965 based boards have X3000 graphics adapter which supports Pixel and Vertex Shader 3.0, upto 384MB graphics RAM support and hardware acceleration. ATi X200 is no match for a Intel X3000.

WTF:shock:
i bought intel dg965wh for $135, frm USA just a month back, in rupees its ~6000 bucks.

the 965RY retails at 7-7.5 k, & WH has more features in it, like dolby, 7.1, ViiV tech....

so i think you quoted the price wrong:cool:

^^Mayb, but games like NFS carbon, Doom III plays better in the ATI X200 than the X3000 here.
Have you checked that you have X3000 and not just 3000? Q965 boards have 3000 while G965 have X3000...it is a HUGE difference between two.

but still the Final version of the Drivers hasnt been released.

btw Intel themselves stated that GMA X3000 is not for gaming but to run Vista Premium/Ultimate @ its fullest.:)

I have not read what they said but even if they did...they didn't say anything wrong. You are buying on-board graphics for god's sake...what do you want to run? Doom 3 at 2048x1024? :p

Onboard graphics have some limitations you cannot overload them with high resolutions.. they will heat up and will slow down and its not meant that if its ATi or Nvidia onboard then it wont heat up... it has limitations you cannot exceed them....

dude, i think you do know there's a BIG difference between a gaming Onboard & non Gaming onboard.

all Intel onboards are of later purpose. they're specifically designed to run the OS & other applications (video...) without the need of dedicated card. & not for gaming.

ATi & Nvidia come in former one, they are desinged to do all the stuff which basic onboard (Intel) does & also run games.

if you tried to play NFS Carbon on GMA950, you'll know what i'm talking about.
while the same game runs Smoothly (@ low settings ofcourse) on ATi & Nvidia onboards.
