Importance of board exams.

I'm a below average student and scored 63% in 10th (CBSE-08) and 56% in 12th (CBSE-12). I've joined a private college this yr, but I can't help wondering how much my low percentages and 2 yr gap are going to affect my future ahead. If hypothetically I start doing great in college will my bad past still be problematic while getting job, GATE, will any foreign university accept a student like me?

Placement companies only allow those to participate in the process who have more than minimum % in 10th and 12th...which is 60% in some cases(not all)
But not all companies have the same requirements...
Also many PG colleges and Bschools have started considering theses scores in the admission process....

Please note that only few i.e. topnotch colleges have these norms..

Do well in your college and you are good to go....

Thanks, I just needed a thing to look up to and be hopeful. What about GRE & TOEFL though?
