I want Microsoft Excel only
can i install excel only from microsoft office

i have Win xp home edition that came with compaq laptop.

can i install office that can be installed in win 98 pcs only

i mean win xp has different microsoft office : office xp

also what is the size of microsoft office

i have only 353 mb memory
and mine computer is slow
so i want only excel to installed not full office.

Hi,
Yes, you can install only Excel. You have to choose "Customised setup/installation" option while installing Office.
And, 353MB is more than enough for entire Office suite itself!
I think Windows XP supports Office suite bearing versions 2000, XP and 2003. It most probably does not support Office 97 and below.

Yes, You can install only MS Excel from the Office Suite CD. Choose "Custom Installation" and set all other products (i.e Word, Powerpoint etc) as "Not available".

The size on disk for Complete install Office 2003 Pro (Includes Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Infopath & Access) takes about 1984 KB

Win XP does not have any different Office. MS Office XP/2003 can be installed on Windows 98 SE onwards.

If you want smaller versions of Office, try Office 97.

Office 97 works on XP, but no support is provided by MS for this product.
