So I got this new phone for myself : ZTE Grand X Quad Lite Price in India - Buy ZTE Grand X Quad Lite Blue 4 Online - ZTE : Flipkart.com - zte grand quad lite
Its great in all respects, except the gps was giving me major pain. Just would not connect to any satellite. Had a forever searching for GPS locations /satellite message. I was quite pissed off as GPS was kind of important for me.
However after a few good hours of googling and mucking around in settings, I ended up doing the following:
1. downloaded mobileuncle mtk tools app
2. Went into Engineer mode > engineer mode (mtk) >location > location based services > GPS > and in ref(reference) position I entered my rough latitude and longitude (which I copied from google earth)
After this I turned on my GPS and voila! it connected.
My (completely wild) guess is that it was trying to search the whole damn globe for my position, and only when I gave it a nearby reference position it was able to lock on.
The above is just my wild guess-timate. Does anyone here has a better idea about what happened here ?
