how to use multiple modems?

I have dial-up connection from BSNL over internal modem and also use my Reliance samsung phone as modem to connect internet. both can dial their ISPs at the same time.

Now, can i surf net using combined power of both the connections? I have tried but no increase in speed. My geek frnds tell me I need some s/w to take advantage of both? can anyone plz gimme guidance on this? thanks

ya you can get the speed boost but not in real terms
there are software available which will divert the multiple traffic originating form your comp to differrent connections
but if you are downloading a single file, it wont be distributed among the connections and thus there will be no increase in download speeds but if you are browsing multiple websites then there will increase in browsing speed
