My monitor (CRT) Samsnung SyncMaster 798mbplus is emitting a very high frequency sound. Its not very loud but little disturbing since its high frequency. What could be the problem? When i turn the monitor off it stops. If i turn it on back it sometimes stops/sometimes doesn't.

Are there any magnetic things around? Like Speakers which are poorly magnetic shielded....
One more possible reason is power supply wire. See that the wire is messed up with other wires. Electro magnetic effect can also cause buzz in most of electronic equipments. With monitor "ON" keep moving wires around and listen for buzz changes.
