hi,
i have a HP pavilion pc. i will be formating it in near future. so i wanted to know which is the best full system security suit which i can install to keep my system secure.

right now i am using the following security softwares:

1. Nortan Antivirus 2004.
2. Zone Alarm firewall.
3. Spybot- S&D.
4. Spyware Blaster.
5. a-squared.
6. Ad Aware SE
7. Ccleaner (for clearing the junk).

but all these softwares have made my system very slow. so i wanted a single software or a single software pack which will keep my system secure.

please suggest.....

thank you.

@Prathap, Install the latest Windows updates + other software you have mentioned.
Ofcourse it will make your PC slow, since lot of programs are loaded in memory!!
If you have installed 512 MB RAM, add another 512 MB RAM. That will speed things up.
Also Windows O.S is more vulnerable to attacks, malware, viruses etc.,
If you want a secure O.S, install Ubuntu 6.06 Linux. It's very secure. Also you don't
need any antivirus, anti-spyware programs etc., I try Ubuntu, you'll believe it!!

@prathap_lab, i also own a HP Pavilion, (256+512MB RAM),
What i've Installed is====>>

:arrow: Zone Alarm Pro (Only FireWall- Paid version)

:arrow: AVG Free Anti Virus (but its not in Start-up-> its my BackUp AV)

:arrow: Kaspersky Internet Security 6 (Full Version)

:arrow: Windows Defender

Now if you dont have a paid ZoneAlarm Pro, then your best bet is Kaspersky Internet Security as it has FireWall.
(i did not install the Kaspersky FireWall as i have the Best FireWall already installed)

The PC starts up as usual, in 1-2 mins. even when i had ZoneAlarm+AVG Free+Windows Defender, when my PC had only 256MB RAM config.
:arrow: All these programs take an average RAM of 5MB, so your PC will not Crawl.

keep spywareblaster, adaware/ewido, ccleaner.
additionally download xp-AntiSpy

use either zonealarm security suite
or
kaspersky internet security.

zass has a very strong fw and anti-intrusion, an good anti-spy, and average av, good anti-spam and parental control ! it rated as the better suites around.

kis has a very strong av, but its fw and anti-hacker is found wanting. its anti-spy is also not considered up-to-the-mark. its anti-spam is considerd poor. but is very light.

Try free av from *www.free-av.com and zone alarm free edition. Norton is a resource hog don't touch it with a bargepole. If you want a secure system think of moving to Linux, at least when browsing/downloading.

^^BSOD's occur due to various incompatibilities like inappropriate drivers , heat in the box, memory problem etc!
