2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?

  • Thin and Light; 12" - 14" screen
  • Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?a. Like: Dell, Sony, Acer
b. Dislike: HCL, Lenovo

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
Office works (MS Office Package), Engineering Softwares (Auto CAD, Matlab), Internet

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
LED will be preferable of moderate resolution like 1366x768, either glossy or matte

6) Anything else you would like to say? (eg: local purchase, ASS,matte/glossy finish)
Battery backup should be good & after sales service is important & Low weight

Wow, you prefer Acer over Lenovo? Any reason? I ask this since Acer ASS sucks AFAIK.

Best fits your requirements - i3 processor, best ASS, battery life is decent.

Acer Gateway NE56R Laptop (2nd Gen Ci3/ 4GB/ 320GB/ Win8) (NX.Y14SI.012) - Acer: Flipkart.com
Again, the same, more or less - with windows 8 and somewhat better battery life (at least on paper). ASS is nowhere near as good as Dell, obviously.
