lovelygrll Hey There is always a First Time isnt it

Welcome to Thinkdigit!

It will be more appropriate if you tell two things
1. Your budget .. how much you wanna spend

2. What do you need this phone for .. only for talking or anyother reasons too.. mp3 colour or not etc...

We will help you as possible

Then you can take
Nokia 6600 (its very cheap now at 9.6K) *www.nokia-asia.com/nokia/0,,38681,00.html

6600 is one of the most popular phones ..
and it has symbian .. since you are a new to this ..
In this phone you can install many Games n Applications

Another option is Nokia Ngage (rs.7000)... if you like to play games

Well mobilegeek don't you think Nokia 6600 will be a bit awkward as a first cell phone. I think that she whould go in for some lower end model and get the grips of whats.,whys, hows and such.
As far as suggesting a cell phone goes. I'm not in touch with the latest in the market. Am using a 2300 since last 2 years though my I exchange it with my sister's 3230 sometimes.

Dear ... What you mean awkward ... 6600.. Naaaaaaaaaaah!

Its the best selling S60 phone ..
And if a person if ready to spend around 10k,
then why go for a less featured n less popular phone..

Whatever phone you use, you get used to it in a week max.

I was thinking to give options ..like
Moto E398,
Nokia 3220, Nokia 6021,
SE K508i, SE K300i,
Samsung D410, etc ...
But I didnt wanted to confuse .. the person much (IMO)

In a way you are right that .. Its a smartphone .. and every1 may not like to use it...

Also .. if she didnt like the 6600 .. then we can give other options too

like ... Motorola E398 -->HERE<---

Nokia 6600 .. has Symbian OS ..
So, it is most compatible with the Java games
not to mention various applications.
You can install Oggplay in 6600 .. n use it as portable music player ..
It has a expandable memory .. n comes with 64MB MMC
Being a nokia its sturdy and battery is good too..

And lastly ...

"Most people dont change the phone frequently..
So, I suggested a fully featured.. popular phone" :D

lovelygrll, Welcome to thinkdigit.

So you wanna mobile and your budget 10,000. Ok

You told that it will be your first experience. Then I recommend to go for Nokia coz it has the best and very easy to use interface. In your price range there are many models and almost all are very feature rich and camera equipped.

Here are some models of Nokia in my opinion:

N6020 (camera, gprs, edge)
N6600 (camera, gprs, meomary expandable)

Sony Ericsson:
K500i (camera, mp3, infrared)
K700i (camera, mp3, infrared, blutooth)

Motorola:
E398 (camera, mp3, 3d surround sound)

Since you want the fone delieverd in Kathmandu I was just plain curios if are have a budget of 10000 Rs in Indian currency or in Nepalese Currencey coz I dont think 10000 Rs in Nepalese currency wud be sufficient to buy almost any of the high end fones mentioned by vishal even I recommend like tech_your future that you go for some entry level fone like 1100, 1110 from Nokia or comparable and once you get the hang of things you can migrate to any of the fones mentioned by vishal

BTW - Welcome to thinkdigit
