I'm planning to get the a new GPU from COMPASS. I have HD3650 512MB and I'm thinking of getting either 8800GT or HD4850, which one do you prefer most ??? Mine is Intel chipset, and many say that ATi goes best with AMD.... I've used ATi with Intel MoBo before and I faced a lot of problems while the nVidia had no issues... Even in new board, I get problems during start-up. I get horizontal lines throughout the LCD during Windows login for 1-2 sec and it doesn't show up everytime. Don't know if the issue is with the GPU or with the DVI-VGA converter...

Try To get a different convertor.
If the convertor is Ok then the issue may be with your gfx card or ram. Check Both.

And Lastly : Go for HD4850 ( Palit ) For sure.
It's lot better than 8800GT or even 9800GT & 9800GTX. :p

HD 4850 for sure. if you can crossfire (if motherboard supports it) then you can buy another 3850 and crossfire them and can save some money.

Well, I have no plans for Crossfire right now. Those RAMs has no problem, the problem is with the ATi card or the converter or the driver. Need to check them soon.
