I have a 8600GT. Its not working of late.
Now my query is should I give it for repairs?
I mean can it really be repaired properly against the money they will charge?
Or is it better to buy a new one?

Plz suggest me.
Thank you.

you may ask a local shop how much it'll cost to get it fixed. market price of such a GPU will be at 1k max. so not worth repairing it as it'll again show some other issues soon.

Get HD 5670 GDDR5 512MB @ 4K

HD 5570 GDDR5 @ 3.5k.

Both are much better than 8600 GT. I suggest HD 5670.

Would like to revive this thread as I am ready to bye the gfx card.
Searched flipkart and found :

1. PowerColor AMD/ATI Radeon HD5670 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card - Rs.4045 - available

2. XFX AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5670 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card - Rs.4410 - out-of-stock

3. HIS AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5670 GPU 1 GB GDDR3 Graphics Card - Rs.4577 - available

4. Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5670 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card - Rs.3905 - out-of-stock.

Plz tell me which brand should I go for?

BTW budget is 4K approx.

Thank you.

GDDR5 based HD5670 are really disappearing from market. Go for PowerColor.

The HiS model available there is a IceQ model ( best cooling ) - so if you are willing to pay that extra you can consider this and here's it's 100 bucks cheaper ;-)
