iam building this gaming rig for myself.ihave given the conf below.please suggest any improvements if needed.

2.asus P8Z68 VPRO-GEN3- 1500K
3.corsair 8gbddr3 ram-3000k
4.seagate 1tb hard disk-6000k
5.sapphire hd6950 2gb-16000k
6.coolermaster haf x-11000k

First of all add an extra "0" in mobo's price (and remove k's)

Now, which RAM are you buying?

And why not go for 7xxx series rather cross firing? CF = less efficiency as performance is not proportional to power consumption.

its not at all like that. currently cfx scaling is 1.9-2x single card.
you wont get anything better than this

Seems like I have to update myself. But won't the power consumption be higher than single comparable card?

gamers bother about fps

performance also increases other than power consumption.

that power consumption, convert it into money spent on bill of both gpus and single gpu. and see how much it differs

Hmm..that's just a gamer's opinion for "that" extra fps. But if thought wisely, its not right option, especially when 7xxx cards are just in time.

My recommendation too goes for playing the waiting game. Waiting a bit more
Shouldn't hurt knowing that you will get THE latest gen cards

You planning to overclock and mod your cabinet ? If not then you are over spending on the quoted components IMHO .
