1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans: AAA titles like Death stranding,RDR2 ,upcoming ones like Atomic heart ,etc at 2k..not a lot for productivity.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.
Ans: 90k ..can extend upto 95k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: yes

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: windows 10

5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: have hard disks and ssds already

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: need a 27inch 2k monitor with ips panel

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: GPU ,Hard disks ,keyboard,mouse,ups

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: April 3rd week ,2022

9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: yes .like 10 years ago

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: chennai ..mostly from ritchie street but open to get from online as well

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: upgrading from a 10 year old pc with i5 3570k and I built the same with help from this group..
Leaning towards intel centric pc as i haven't had issues with the same for 9 years or so ..but open to using amd as well if its vfm but doesnt sacrifice too much performance .

Appreciate any and all help.
Thanks all
Pradeep

Oh, pretty nice deal, Asus TUF? I bought my 3070 for 79k barely 2 months back.

Do you own an SSD?

Even now, with a monitor, the rig I mentioned is what you can get for 85k. Upgrading to i5 12600K or i7 12700 will cost an additional ~20k because you need a much better motherboard that can handle those.

Will i5 12400 bottleneck a 3070/3070Ti at 2K? Yes, but I expect barely 5% or at max 10% less fps in some rare games that are frequency sensitive (usually older or heavily CPU intensive titles). So, you take the call if you can spend the extra on better CPU + mobo. 3070Ti vs 3070 is under 10% uplift.

CPU - Intel i7 12700 - 30k (Intel Core I7-12700 Processor)
or Intel i5 12600K - 26k

Mobo - Asus TUF Z690 Plus DDR4 WiFi - 25k (has 4x M.2 slots vs cheaper Z690, so worth extra)
or Asus Prime Z690-P - 20k (no WiFi+BT & just 3x M.2 slots)

RAM - 2x8GB DDR4 3600MHz C18 - 7k
GPU - Your 3070Ti
M.2 SSD - WD SN750SE 1TB - 9k
HDD - Yours
PSU - NZXT C750 80+ Gold - 9k
Cabinet - Lian Li 215 - 6k**
Monitor - Acer XV272U - 25k

Total - 111k (i7 + TUF) or 102k (i5 + Prime)
[i7 + Prime will also work fine as i7 12700 draws up to 180W, I think vs 130-140W of i5 12600K vs 80W of i5 12400]

That link you gave for i7 12700, is not opening.

Wont it be better if OP is going with 12700, might as well go with 12700k or 12700KF(no igpu), to have some "future proofing" capabilities.

The i7 12700 is already pretty overkill. My initial recommendation is i5 12400 & that's a good CPU as well.

Apparently elitehubs' website is under maintenance.

So ,been going through a ton of review vids and have decided to go with below configurations.
Please let me know if the below configuration is good. this is purely only for gaming and very little to no overclocking .

Shall i go with air cooler or aio coolers. WIth AIO would there be a risk of springing a leak . More than performace, i definitely would want peace of mind.

i5 12600k

Asus z690 prime p wifi d4

corsair rm 750w / nzxt c750

Lian li lancool ii mesh all white with type c port

Corsair 3600 mhz dual channel ram c18

deepcool ak620 / arctic liquid freezer ii 240 a-rgb / ARCTIC Freezer 34 Esports Duo

acer nitro xv272u

Thanks,
Pradeep

@omega44-xt Any suggestions for air coolers ? I have squared in on deepcool ak620 and noctua u12s.

thanks
AK620 - check review by Gamers Nexus, one of the best air coolers, must for i7 12700 or i5 12600K IMO.

AIOs usually last for 4-5 years, so there's that as well. Even though leakage chances are very very low, still its not 0. Air coolers have lower points of failure. You are not buying a CPU like i9 12900K, which needs a good AIO to keep its temp in check. So, my recommendation in air cooler.

For AIO, I heard Arctic Freezer II series is good. Check Gamers Nexus reviews.

For no OC, maybe consider i7 12700 for better performance. I saw that MSI B660M A pro is under 14k these days. You might be able to get its WiFi variant for 16k or so. It is one of the cheapest B660 mobo that can power an i7 12700. Check Hardware Unboxed's B660 testing.

Edit - 15k here, trusted shop, Ankit Infotech in BLR

Great looking build, congrats.

Could you run some benchmarks and check the thermals and power draw of the i5 13600k? Please post it here as well.
From the reviews, the i5 13600k seems to be a power hungry chip, so if a single tower cooler manages to keep it cool, that's impressive.

(PS- consider adding a power limit and undervolting it, wont affect performance by much.)

Sure , it is idling at 46 - 48c with couple of tabs open in Chrome watching Hotstar. Sorry , but i have never run stress tests.
Do I run Prime95,OCCT ?

Thx

Yeah, Prime95 is good. A 10 minute multi core Cinebench R23 test is good as well. Reviews claim that the i5 13600K scores about 23,000 in this test (as in Cinebench R23), so you'll get a rough idea if there is any performance difference due to throttling at load.
