1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: virtual Machines, assassin's creed 4, Battlefield 4, call of duty black ops 2, GTA V (if launched), Crysis 3 and games releasing in next 4 years

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 40K. +1K at max

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Yes

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 X64

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 500GB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes. 20' or 22' will do.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: None as I was using laptop previously

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Next 1-2 days

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Will be done by me

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Will be buying locally from Pune.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Need a configuration that will have the power to run games releasing in next 3-4 years as I will not be upgrading before that.

Will be great if you can let me know some shops in Pune that can offer competitive price.

Thanks rijinpk1 and others for suggestions.

I would like to cut cost of betfenix merc alpha and instead spend the money on RAM or graphics.

Is 1GB GFX enough or should I go for 2GB? If yes, which one is good 7790 2GB or 650 Ti Boost 2 GB without streching the budget more.

you can get ram later. getting good case is also important as you can manage cables very easily.
see this bad cable management on a very low cost case *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=12659&d=1383929198

also get 650 ti 2gb boost eyes closed.

Talk to the hand!!!
If you intend to upgrade RAM later, then keep in mind the latency. It should be similar to the ram module you purchase now. Also 650Ti is better compared to AMD 7770/7790.
Also Corsair CX430 V2 is a good alternative if Antec vp450p isn't available.

650Ti and 650Ti boost is completely different.
@op get the one with boost it comes close to GTX660 in performance

Thanks to all of you for valuable suggestion. Will visit local shops today for below config.

Fx 6300 -7.3k
gigabyte ga 970 ds3 -5.3k
kingston hyperX blu 4gb - 2.6k
wd blue 500GB - 3.2k
asus odd -1k

logiteck mk200 -0.7k
Cabinet -1.5K
7790 -9.8k / 650 Ti Boost 2GB - 12.6k

I am still confused will GFX card as it brings my budget to 42.6K with 7790 and 45.4K with 650 ti Boost 2GB.

Already cost has increased from expected 41K to above prices.

Can you suggest what cost cuts can be done in order to have 650 Ti Boost 2GB with total cost upto 43k and retaining suggested Processor and Monitor.

If you are running short of cash, you can hold the purchase of a GPU for now and get it next month. You cannot game right away but atleast you will have a flexible budget and can perhaps get an even get a better GPU.

Without a graphic card he won't get display as FX 6300 does not have an IGP.

Thanks rijinpk1.

The motherboard issue is solved. The guy from local store suggested MSI 970 G46.

Now the problem is with GFX card...

I got 2 alternatives:
1) Zotac 650 Ti 2GB(without boost)
2) Galaxy 650 Ti Boost 2GB

Is Galaxy a trustable brand?

try to avoid msi mobo. you are likely to have issues with rma later. stick with asus or gigabyte. get zotac boost which has 5 years warranty.(if you register within 14 days of purchase)
