free Divx converter

Please suggest me a free Divx converter which will be able to convert vcd file (*.dat) and dvd file (*.vob) to divx file(*.avi) file. and if possible with easy configure and quick convert file.

AutoGK - does xvid encodes only - its just straightforward

OR

MeGui or Handbrake - both xvid & x.264 encodes.

U will learn other tweaks once U start off with encoding then "MeGUI" is your best choice

But is there no software to encode video with divx encoding. actually i want to play these video in Samsung (P475)DVD Player which is divx certified(enabled).

Its fine, U can encode with "Xvid" it will play in your DVD Player.
