Western Digital Corp, the worst hit hard drive manufacturer by Thai floods,
said on Friday it has partly resumed production this week after months of suspension Western Digital could regain market share quickly | Reuters :neutral::neutral:

Finally good news. :) Any idea when are we going to see price drops?

i don't think we'll see a price drop for another 6 months. firstly they got to serve the server market then US & europe market and finally arrive here. but situation will get better soon (price stability). after WD, seagate too will start.

^^its a good news..& WD was highly affected by floods....now I can think of another HDD in a couple of months

Now the source looks more valid. If so, then prices won't go down before the ending of Q1,2012 because of stability factor in the market.

Good to know that. Somewhere around this forum I read the hard drive prices have doubled recently as the balance between production and consumption has gone for a toss but now we can expect the prices to get back to normal soon.
