eMail issues with n73

Hi.i got some problems with my gmail and setting it up in phone-

1.This is the first time i used n73 me (latest firmware) to setup my gmail account with the inbuilt mail.the problem is it retrieves sent mails too
2.anyone using nokia mail-another problem.it keeps gprs always on and my battery would drain within a day.how to stop this?

1. Yes, it happens with gmail if you use POP
2. There is an option in nokia phones which allows GPRS on your phone always on. Set it to use it only when needed.

yea gprs is set to when needed but that doesn't help.so which other email service should i use?except yahoo and the indian email services

Use IMAP and select only those folders which you want to retrieve. Works for me.

Have you set it to automatically retrieve emails at specified intervals?

^^Did you check if the same thing (GPRS always on) happens even if you instruct it not to fetch emails automatically ?
